ION EXCHANGE MEMBRANE CELL TECHNOLOGY

Ion exchange membrane (IEM) cell technology is the technology of choice in the chlor-alkall industry today. For the IEM technology, the cell element assembly is of paramount importance and the smallest deviations from norms can lead to disastrous effects on the cell components. The fabrication of cell elements, both Anodic and Cathodic, is therefore, a very sophisticated technology.

De Nora has developed a special 12 point welding electrode machine, easily adaptable to perform assembly work for different cell technology suppliers. At present, only 4 such welding machines are available in the world, of which one is owned by TItanor Components Limited, India, and is located in the Goa factory.

This machine has been utilized for the assembly of Uhde technology louvres for Gujarat Alkalies and Chemicals Limited, Indian Petrochemicals Limited and Standard Alkalies Limited accounting for nearly 100% of the louvres assembled in India.

Besides giving technical support to all De Nora Customers in India, we are also giving technical support to other technology suppliers such as:

  • UHDE for the servicing of the GACL Cell-room/half shells and for the repairs and maintenance of the PACL IEM Plant.
  • LURGI for the servicing of the AtuI Cell-room.
  • Asahi Chemicals Industries for their MACL IEM Plant repair and maintenance.

  • CEC for the servicing of their HJIL & SPIC IEM Plant elements.

Based on the above, we have been able to establish a market share of 95% of the ion exchange membrane cells coated in India.

We consider the list of our esteemed clients as a yardstick for our performance and the results achieved by us In the Indian industry.
